Micromax has launched its latest Canvas Sliver 5 smartphone. The mobile vendor claims its new Canvas Sliver 5 is the slimmest and lightest smartphone in the world.
While the latter is non-debatable with the device weighing only 95 grams, the former will definitely call for some mild argument. Micromax says the Canvas Silver 5 is the true world’s slimmest smartphone with flat 5.1mm thickness. The company argues that other smartphones have their claim on paper. Vivo and Oppo which have been taunted as the slimmest phones in the world do not meet Micromax’s measurement criterion. When the protruding camera of those phones is added up, they become thicker than the Canvas Silver 5 which is equipped with a flat camera.
Macromax Canvas Silver 5 is a 4.8-inch AMOLDED HD device with a resolution of 720 x 1280. It is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 chipset, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM and no microSD support. Adding to this, Canvas Silver 5 is equipped with 8 MP rare camera with Sony IMZ219 sensor and 5 MP selfie camera.
The smartphone is 4G/LTE ebabled, making it the company’s second 4G smartphone. Right-out-of-the-box, it will run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system. The battery capacity is 2,000mAh engineered with low energy consuming components for reduced battery consumption.
The mid-range Cavas Silver 5 has a price tag of Rs 17,999 ($280).
