Dubbed a 5-in-1 laptop, the Acer Aspire Switch 12 is an affordable 2-in-1 notebook offering great versatility. The Windows hybrid combines the qualities of a laptop and a tablet as well as everything in-between in one package, while also boasting an impressive display and the power-efficient Intel Core M processor.
The Design
A major selling point for the Acer Aspire Switch 12 is its multi-mode design. The hybrid features a detachable wireless keyboard and a new rear kickstand that makes it possible to keep the display in an upright position.What this essentially means is that you have a convertible that adds an extra mode to the four modes that are becoming increasingly common. The Acer Aspire Switch 12 can be used in notebook, tablet, display, tent and desktop modes.
For the desktop mode, the kickstand is used to keep the display in a stand position while the keyboard is used wirelessly. The keyboard supplied for the hybrid, which has a black finish, is full-sized and features a pointing stick for power users.

Acer Aspire Switch 12 packs a 12.5-inch, LED-backlit display with an impressive Full HD (1080p) resolution. The touch display is protected by Gorilla Glass and has a 16:9 aspect ratio.The convertible laptop is powered by an Intel Core M processor renowned for its power-efficiency and quiet operation. The chip should deliver decent performance and responsive graphics when the hybrid is in use.

The touch-friendly Windows 8.1 operating system powers the Aspire Switch 12, which is available in 60GB or 120GB solid-state drive configurations. Acer Aspire Switch 12 features built-in microphone and stereo speakers.An Acer Active Pen can be used for taking notes or drawing on the display of the pocket-friendly convertible. Interfaces and ports include 3.5mm audio jack, micro-USB 3.0 port and micro-HDMI port. The battery supplied is supposedly powerful enough to last for up to eight hours of use.
